If you love the Meowchi plush by Tasty Peach Studios then you need to check out their Kickstarter campaign for giant plush in two adorable new designs – Unicorn and Sakura! They’re over twice as big as a normal Meowchi and have so many cute details.

The campaign is already funded but they have lots of cute extras and stretch goals including t-shirts, lanyards, pins and more plush designs. Queen Bee and Calico are already unlocked and there are two more to be revealed. Keep an eye on the Kickstarter page or Facebook for all the new updates and products and make sure to order if you want the plush as they won’t be available anywhere else.

They’ve also posted a sneak peek at this year’s Halloween designs and Pumpkin Meowchi must be mine!

Sharks are my favourite animals but there aren’t many kawaii ones so I was so happy to get this Samezu (サメーズ) book by illustrator Moha Arimura from Marceline for my birthday.

There are 4 kawaii shark characters including a great white, hammerhead and whale shark and they enjoy chomping on fat smiley seals!

The illustrations in the book are adorable and each one is more hilarious than the last.

There are also plushies, letter sets, keychains and even socks!

Have you seen the new Hello Sanrio collection? It’s an adorable new look for our favourite family of characters and they’ve teamed up with some super cool brands.

If you haven’t seen the amazing stop motion video that Tado made, then watch it now. I’ll wait. It’s all made by hand!

The Sanrio shops have a range of stationery, plush, accessories and more available online and in store including cool planners and calendars for 2017.

They’ve also designed a cool clothing range with leggings, t-shirts and reversible bomber jackets, plus a collaborative top with JapanLA.

Subscription box fans will need to snap up the new Sanrio Small Gift Loot Crate which promises to be packed with exclusive cuteness.

I recently bought a few Itty Bittys after seeing them online and wanting my own tiny plush cuties. I have known about them and collected a few over the years but was not aware of all the new ones that came out. Itty Bittys plushies are palm sized but bring a big smile. They are made with soft fabric and are lightly weighted with beans so they stand up for display.

I got myself Hello Kitty of course! If a small size does not do it for you, go for the jumbo plush if you have the room.

I also bought myself Draculaura (Monster High). We both like hearts, vegan food and spooky cute things!

It used to be that San-X were the brand for weird kawaii characters but Sanrio have been getting weirder lately with Kirimi-chan, Gudetama and now Aggretsuko.

Aggretsuko is a cute red panda who works in an office but when her job and coworkers gets frustrating she vents her anger with heavy metal karaoke! I think we can all empathise.

There’s not much merchandise available yet but Sanrio’s US site has some file folders, while there’s bags, phone and pass cases, plush and more at Amazon Japan.

I was very sad to hear of Miffy creator Dick Bruna’s death at the weekend. Having a Dutch mother, my childhood was full of Miffy and this probably explains why I still love cute bunnies so much! If you need some more Miffy in your life now, here’s my current favourites from the Miffy Shop.

I did not know this mug existed and now it’s top of my birthday wish list. Look at that face on the bottom!

Sumikko Gurashi are probably my favourite kawaii characters at the moment and their new bento theme is just about the cutest thing ever. Just watch the video!

I love the new tako wiener / hot dog octopus and onigiri characters and luckily they appear on quite a few of the new products.

My number one NEED are these little coin pouches. The onigiri one even has a sad little tako printed inside.

There’s also this amazing plush set that you can arrange any way you like.

Or a frying pan ready to hold your collection of tiny Sumikko plushies. I only own three so far so that’s a life goal.

I wish I was visiting Japan this month so I could grab this limited edition large Tako plush at Loft!

The bento range has just been released in Japan so it will take a while to filter through to UK & US-based online stores. If you can’t wait, some items are on eBay and Amazon Global or you could also use a shopping service to order direct from San-X.

JapanPop is an Etsy shop that offers a variety of products that can be difficult to find outside of Amazon Japan, such as books, toys, and DIY kits, as well as both crafting and cooking supplies. I was quite excited to discover them while browsing Etsy for interesting craft kits to try, so I thought I would share some of my favorite picks from the shop!

The cat pencil holder DIY kit is actually a kit I haven’t seen before. The premise seems simple enough, but it also appears to be more of a time-intensive craft. If you’re like me and always on the lookout for new types of crafts to try, this one looks like a very unique and practical make!

They offer plenty of coloring book options, including this super cute Sanrio Fantasy Theatre coloring book. I was very happy to see this, as it’s currently only sold by third-party sellers on Amazon Japan that don’t ship internationally.

There are also quite a few instructional craft books to choose from, covering all of the most popular hobbies. The Disney Amigurumi book is full of crochet patterns for all sorts of Disney makes, including some to make your favorite characters into super cute jelly bean-shaped plushies. And look at those cupcakes!

I’m also impressed with the assortment of official character kits offered in the shop. There are all kinds of kits, including mold kits for food, and the Sumikko Gurashi chocolate deco egg mold kit in particular is my favorite among them. Just add colored chocolate for a fun Easter time activity!

If you’re a fan of Mofy, or just adorable bunnies in general, then you probably have noticed by now the distinct lack of Mofy products available internationally. The Hamanaka Mofy needle felt kit helps to right that wrong, at least a little bit!

My list is just a drop in the bucket compared to the entire list of finds that they have, so if you’re looking for a new craft kit or book to try, definitely consider a visit to JapanPop on Etsy.

Keeping my public transport card inside my wallet has become a bit of a hassle. I’d rather have my card at hand to quickly touch it on an electronic reader. Luckily there’s a nice collection of cute card holders available.

The Pusheen ID case comes shaped as a medium sized plush. Simply place your card in the back window pocket, hang it from your bag and stretch out the retractable cord to swipe.

The Pokemon Center often releases pass cases, such as this sweet Togedemaru case. It has got a retractable cord and you even store spare change inside the zip case section.

This official Molang card case doesn’t take up a lot of space. Use the strap to hang it from your neck, belt or bag. Or detach the strap to keep the case at hand in your pocket.

Jinbe San might be one of the cutest characters out there. You can get him as a plush pass case or as a slimmer reel case at AmiAmi.

Tokyo Otaku Mode offers plenty of character cases, how about this rainbow Alpacasso reel pouch?

I love it when Ditto takes over my favourite Pokemon and makes an even cuter version. The first set of characters were adorable and now they’ve expanded the range with even more products.

As always, Japan Stuffs has lots of new things available for pre-order including the new plushies – even Magnemite and Koffing look kawaii with a Ditto face! This whole range is released on Saturday so hurry if you want to reserve anything.

There are lots of transforming products too, like these Pikachu & starter Pokemon pouches that somehow turn into two other designs. How does it work?!?

The US Pokemon Center site should get some of these soon but they already have a big range of Ditto Transform plushies including affordable keyrings at $8.99.

My favourite places for lunch in Japan are the self-serve bakeries you find at stations where you grab a tray and choose whatever looks good to you from the baskets of pastries, cakes, sandwiches, cookies and more. Team that up with Rilakkuma and I’m in love! This limited edition plush set is pretty astounding – you even get plush tongs.

As always, there’s a cute video introducing the theme. I would definitely visit that food truck.

The whole Rilakkuma Bakery range is super cute and I’m pretty sure I need a bread slice pouch.

This teapot is really cute too, and useful! You can see all the products in the San-X Shop and hopefully they’ll be more widely available soon. They’re also popping up on eBay if you can afford the shipping.

I’m sure lots of you dream about visiting Japan during Sakura cherry blossom time but even if you can’t be there, you can still add some blossoms to your home with these cute plushies.

Those Neko Dangos look cute every season and there’s a new Sakura design for 2017 in two variations. Get them from Tokyo Otaku Mode who still have a few of last year’s too.

I’ve always preferred Rilakkuma to his sidekick Korilakkuma but sometimes she definitely deserves the spotlight. How sweet is this pale pink charm, available at Mira Plush?

Miffy has put on her cutest dress ready to welcome spring! You can find this on Amazon Japan, shipping worldwide with AmazonGlobal.

If this is all getting too pretty for you, Artbox have three hilarious Gudetama plushies in a sakura theme.

And finally, Hello Kitty shows how it’s done with a very pretty sakura themed kimono. Perfect for a hanami cherry blossom viewing party!

Given an excessive amount of money, I’m pretty sure I would turn into a crazy Rement collector as their miniatures are all so ridiculously cute and tiny. Since they’re sold in blind boxes, I try only to buy a box when I’d be happy to get any of the sets.

Both me and Nicolette couldn’t resist the new Sumikko Gurashi House series and unbelievably, we both got our top choice! The cleaning ghost is my favourite character, closely followed by the dustball so I love all this so much and would pay quite a lot for a full size ghost brush and dustpan.

The rest of the sets are adorable too and I would have been almost equally happy with the garden set. If you’re a Sumikko fan, take your chances at Tofu Cute.

Also on my wishlist is this upcoming Rilakkuma British Tea Time series, which is currently up for pre-order at AmiAmi and should be more widely available next month. Being British, this is of course exactly what my life is like (so fancy!) and it’s hard to choose a favourite. Maybe the sewing basket or the tea set?

If you dream of visiting a cute character cafe in Japan, you can at least have a miniature cafe in your home with the Pikachu no Komorebi Cafe series! This is one I would be tempted to get the whole lot, though I’d need a dollhouse as well for the full effect.

While miniatures are adorable, they’re not exactly useful (unless you have a display shelf) but luckily Re-Ment also creates sets with phone charms and keyrings. This Kanahei’s Small Animals Snack Mascot set is the cutest, mixing two of my favourite things: bunnies and food!

The weirder Re-Ment sets don’t always make it out of Japan but you can still browse all the craziness at Amazon Japan – use リーメント in the search box. There’s all sorts of madness in there, from the huge Poseable Skeleton range to cats in underpants.

We’ve been covering a lot of the new San-X stuff recently but what’s happening over at Sanrio? Let’s find out what their characters are up to.

Newest character Aggretsuko is turning up some fun new products in US stores. This amazing double sided pillow is already out of stock but should be back soon. You can also pick up phone cases and a mousemat that would be perfect for your boring office job.

For something sweeter, try the new cake roll cushions, which have a zip off mini pillow too. The  pastel colours and sweets theme means the whole range is adorable (check out the Gudetama one!) but it fits Hummingmint especially well.

Pompompurin is probably my favourite Sanrio character and I love this notebook which has him as an actual pudding! Sorry, but would eat.

The next edition of Sanrio’s Small Gift subscription box with Loot Crate has been announced with a vacation theme. It includes exclusive items worth over $75 and signups close in June. I’m quite tempted despite the likely customs fees as even the UK price with shipping is £39.

And finally, did you know you can Ask Gudetama any question you like? Turns out he’s not a fan of SCK 

From the moment that I saw the chubby Molang bunny, he totally won me over. I’ve got a couple of Molang items at home, but was still on the lookout for a set of figurines. So when a set with both Molang and PiuPiu showed up, I somehow hit the ‘buy it now button’.

I was really on the lookout for official items and therefore bought from an online Korean shop. Both the figurines and stickers came with an official Molang sticker on the back of the package.

The figurines are so pretty! And at 5 cm (2 in) Molang has just the right size for miniature food, such as strawberries and coffee. You might have seen some of their latest adventures on my Instagram feed (^_^)

The new set of Molang Diary stickers also caught my eye. The drawings are made in soft pencil lines and the designs are just super cute. They come in a pack of 8 sticker sheets and I’m certainly planning on using them for my journal.

I’ve bought the items from Molang Shop on eBay but you can also find a selection of their inventory on Etsy, plus follow their adventures on the official Molang Tumblr.

Nintendo have made some of the cutest games ever and now they’ve teamed up with Uniqlo for a range of fan-designed t-shirts! There are 25 designs available covering lots of Nintendo games including Pokemon, Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Kirby and Pikmin.

The pixel Pikachu pattern is top of my list along with the amazing Boo ghosts. I might be tempted to pick up a few more too as the t-shirts are usually pretty good value. You can preview the whole range at Uniqlo and they’ll be available worldwide from Thursday. Sign up to the Uniqlo mailing list for early access!

It’s that time of year again when Sanrio want to find out which characters are the most popular and they need your votes!

Last year’s results were a bit of a blow to Hello Kitty, who only just scraped into the top 5 while my personal favourite, Pompompurin, was crowned the winner. I expect this year Gudetama will be pushing higher but we’ll have to wait and see!

You can choose from 100 characters including some very obscure ones I’ve never heard of before. I want to know more about Shinkaizoku (a blue octopus) and Kashiwankomochi (puppy mochi!).

There’s also a little mobile game called Sanrio Shake de Pon. Just shake your phone to get a gashapon capsule containing a surprise character. You can then find out more about them or give them a vote.

You can vote once a day until June 11th and the winners will be announced on July 2nd. Get voting!

If you follow SCK on Twitter, you will already be well aware of Sumikko Gurashi’s new penguin character as I got a little bit obsessed with the daily comic strip introducing him. The story is that Penguin is an old friend of Shirokuma the polar bear who comes to visit the gang for a holiday. Penguin is apparently quite a globetrotter and look at the great gifts he brought.

You can see the whole comic here, or scroll back through the official Twitter to get translations. I especially love how jealous Penguin? is about meeting an actual Penguin but they make friends in the end.

Of course, there are lots of super cute new products to buy including this adorable igloo set with Shirokuma and Penguin wearing removable fur hoods.

There’s more tiny plushies too including Penguin? dressed as a penguin and Tonkatsu dressed as a walrus!

I’m very tickled by this set of erasers that come with little plastic pants to keep them standing upright. Things you never knew you needed.
